02 Why it exists
Every book on your shelf was chosen with care, except the Bible.
So this one is made like the others you love: a black hardcover with one word on the front, and nothing on the pages except the text.
Gold foil and a ribbon marker start to look like a costume.
No gilt edges, no foil, no picture of a sunset. The type carries the whole book.
Small print fights you before chapter one is over.
The page is A4, the type is large, and the verse numbers sit in the margin where a finger can find them.
You want to hand someone a Bible and feel proud of it.
It arrives as a serious object, the kind of book people leave out on the table.
You have read about Enoch secondhand for years.
Here is the book itself: all 108 chapters of the Charles translation, plain and complete.
03 Inside
Real spreads from the print files. Every big line on them comes from the text, word for word, except the closing Amen.

A Cistercian abbey removes every ornament so the stone itself can preach. We set scripture the same way.

04 The format
210 by 297 mm, hardcover. Large type and wide margins, so the page reads at arm's length on a table or a lectern.
Verse numbers in the margin. Say 6:6 in a reading group and everyone is on the same line in seconds.
Black spreads at the turning points, and three red ones in Genesis. Flip the book and the Flood or the Watchers stop you on the way.
Pictures. No photography, no illustration, no gold foil, no decorative borders. The only thing on the page is the text.
Visualisations built from the print files, so the proportions and type are exact. Photos of printed copies replace them soon.
05 Isn't it free?
Both texts are in the public domain, and you can read them tonight. Nobody should pay for the words. What we make is the object: a book that stays open on the table, with type large enough to read from across it.

Genesis is the World English Bible, a modern public domain translation. Enoch is R. H. Charles, published in 1917 and translated from the Ethiopic. Both are printed as they are, with nothing added or cut. More on the About the texts page.
1 Enoch, also called Ethiopic Enoch: the 108-chapter book with the Watchers, the Parables, the Astronomical Book, the Dream Visions and the Epistle. The Slavonic 2 Enoch and the Hebrew 3 Enoch are different books and are not included.
It depends on whose Bible. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church keeps Enoch in its Bible. Most other churches and the Jewish canon do not. The Letter of Jude, verses 14 and 15, quotes Enoch 1:9. We print the text and leave the verdict with you.
Our European copies are printed in the UK, where the King James text may only be printed by a few licensed publishers. The World English Bible is free to print everywhere. It is a modern update of the American Standard Version of 1901.
No. A 2025 study in PLOS One used an AI model, named Enoch, to estimate dates for Dead Sea Scroll manuscripts. It gave no new date for the Book of Enoch. The oldest known copy, from Qumran Cave 4, was dated by its editor to about 200 to 150 BCE.
Yes. Genesis is volume 1 and Enoch is volume 2. More single books are planned, one at a time.
